Healthy and beautiful skin or my journey to #HEALTHYEATING

I love making green smoothies, baking gluten-free apple pies and treating my friends with chickpeas patties. But a year ago I couldn’t even imagine that I’d switch to healthy and clean eating.

I love making green smoothies, baking gluten-free apple pies and treating my friends with chickpeas patties. But a year ago I couldn’t even imagine that I’d switch to healthy and clean eating.

This change started because of my lovable but very stressful job. Well, how it happens to everyone - deadlines approach too fast, boss gets nervous and suppliers are failing to do what is expected from them. And you are, meanwhile, tired, dying for sleep and your left eye starts twitching. That stress affected my skin pretty badly. My neck and face got covered with red rash and blotches, which itched horribly and persistently wouldn’t go away. And every time when my boss came up with the next unplanned project, it became even worse! I tried to treat it in all the ways I could possibly think of: applied creams for problem skin, made herbal lotions, peelings and took salty baths… I even started washing my clothes with hypoallergenic detergent for children.
At some point I felt desperate and decided to break down the problem. And here is what I’ve came with:

Psychological problem. There are many reasons for stress in our life and not all of them are because of work. We are stressed when we are stuck in the traffic jam, waiting in line, going to the bank, hospitals and stores… Overall, since we can’t get away from stress, we should change our attitude towards it.

Problem of balance. We need to catch a break and look for a positive side in everything. Some people would like dancing, zumba or fitness as a way to find that balance. Someone would prefer boxing to get rid of negative thoughts. Some people go extreme and do bungee jumping (I personally don’t think it’s a good idea to do it frequently, it’s better to find something closer to the Earth). For me the solution was yoga. It helped me to find my inner balance and get rid of eye twitching. Well, and my friend got into twerking - she says that it helped to find her balance.

Problem of eating. No wonder that people say that we are what we eat. That’s why it is wise to think about changing your diet. Usually people snack with potato chips and soda, don’t get enough of fruits and veggies, and use salad leaves to decorate the dishes.
I realized that I should start eating clean and abandon unhealthy snacking. Instead of those snacks I decided to eat more fruits. This is how I’ve started bringing apples and oranges with me at work. I ate them even during fierce discussions with my boss. Later I’ve added carrots and celery stalks.

Problem of dehydration. Yes, dehydration can cause intoxication and lead to a dehydrated and problematic skin. And if, on top of that, you drink liters of coffee and energy drinks, you can get tachycardia!
Of course, all of these weren’t easy. Transition to a healthy lifestyle and clean eating is never easy, but it is an interesting journey. And I like this journey.  Now I’ve got clean skin without rash or pimples, my digestion system works perfect, skin shines and there are no pouches of grief under my eyes! Happiness and joy only!
